Sustainability isn’t just a box we tick, it’s a responsibility we take seriously. That’s why we’re excited to share a small but meaningful change we’ve recently made: we’ve swapped all our toilet roll from standard paper to bamboo.
It may sound like a simple switch, but little changes add up. For us, it’s another step on our journey to reduce our environmental footprint and make sure our everyday choices reflect our values.
🌿 Why Bamboo?
Bamboo is an incredible plant and one of nature’s fastest growers. While trees can take decades to mature, bamboo can shoot up by as much as three feet in a single day. Once harvested, it regenerates naturally, so there’s no need to replant. That makes it a brilliant, renewable alternative for products we use every day.
Compared to traditional toilet paper, bamboo-based products bring some real environmental benefits:
- Protecting forests: Standard toilet roll is linked to deforestation, but bamboo grows quickly and doesn’t require the same level of land clearing.
- Saving water: Bamboo paper production uses less water than standard paper, helping preserve our precious freshwater resources.
- Lower carbon impact: Bamboo absorbs more carbon dioxide and releases more oxygen than trees, making it a natural ally in fighting climate change.
- Naturally clean: Bamboo grows without pesticides or fertilisers, which means a gentler footprint on the land.
- Fully biodegradable: Just like standard paper, bamboo toilet roll breaks down naturally but with fewer environmental costs along the way.
